An explanation on Fees
The nursery is closed for 20 working days per year. Parents do not pay for the days that we are closed.
There are 52 weeks in the year and parents pay four weeks on the first day of each month for the 12 months of the year. In total 48 weeks. We do not charge the whole 16 week term in advance. We also do not charge monthly, as this would mean parents fees were different each month.
Parents pay four weeks fees even for months that have 31 days in them. Parents do have to pay for Bank Holidays as all staff are entitled to these holidays with pay. So to keep it simple we decided to cover the 48 weeks of the year by 12 equal payments, during months that have more than four weeks and also for months that include Bank Holidays. This allows parents some idea of what they will be paying each month and it is consistent, rather than changing every month.
If a child leaves our nursery mid term, the whole term must be paid for.
I hope the above explains why we still need four weeks payment in August when we close for 10 working days, December when we close for 5 working days and April when we close for 5 working days. However I hope the above explains this also means parents are not paying for the time closed.
